DCSAR participated in the Douglas County Sheriff's multi-agency CART training drill designed to aid the county in it's child abduction preparedness.

DCSAR was involved in the rescue of a woman who passed out on the Devils Head National Recreational trail in Pike National Forest.

DCSAR received media coverage for locating a rock hunter lost overnight in the Rampart Range, Pike National Forest.
Five Colorado search and rescue teams, including DCSAR, were honored by the National Association for Search and Rescue with it's Valor Award for a 2009 rescue on the Crestone Needle.
DCSAR was awarded a Sheriff's Commendation for service to Douglas County at the annual Sheriff's award ceremony.
DCSAR successfully completed its re-accreditation with the Mountain Rescue Association by passing all five required disciplines by unanimous vote.
Representatives from all Rocky Mountain Region teams were present to evaluate DCSAR's performance.
Douglas County Search and Rescue Team, Inc. (DCSAR) is a non-profit, all volunteer team dedicated to providing search, rescue, emergency response, and outdoor safety education to the citizens of Douglas County, Colorado. The team also responds to requests for assistance from other search and rescue (SAR) teams in Colorado and around the United States.

DCSAR operates under the authority of the Douglas County Sheriff. Calls range from searches for missing persons in residential areas to rescues of those injured in the wilderness. DCSAR and the Douglas County Sheriff do not charge for search and rescue services. Read more on this issue from the Colorado Search and Rescue Board.
